Time To Party!

We had a lot of fun having friends and family over for a party on saturday to celebrate Ethan's first birthday on! A big thanks to everyone who came and made it a special fun day for Ethan (and for us)! There was lots of baby playing, some snack, cupcakes and of course some happy birthday singing!

Ethan decided before his friends came over that he was no longer scared of standing on his own and he'd try it out for a while.

Ethan's a bit like Oprah - he wanted to share some of his favorite things with his favorite people.

He gave books and animal cookies to his friends as a party favor.

Happy Birthday Boy!

One Year Ago Today

It's hard to believe my baby boy is a year old today! The time really has seemed to fly by and he has learned and changed so much in such a short period of time. A year ago today was by far one of the best days of my life. What an amazing moment it was to get to hold Ethan for the first time and become a mom! Ethan is such an amazing blessing, I love being his mom, getting to watch him as he grows and help him each day. I am continually amazed at how much love I have for him and how much joy he brings to our lives. We are so thankful that we have been blessed with Ethan as part of our family.

All at Once

Ethan has his first tooth! And his second, and third! and the fourth and fifth are almost here! He didn't have any teeth untill about two weeks ago, but once we noticed the first one pushing through (his bottom front) the top two came in in the next few days. He waited a little longer than some of his buddies to get teeth but now  all of the sudden they are coming in they are all coming at once!

I feel so bad for him when he's hurting because he doesn't know what's going on and I can't explain to him. But he has been handling teething like a champ! We've had a few tough nights and he needed extra cuddles and momma time while the first ones were cutting though but he was really sweet and all in all in a fairly good mood about it all. I know I would have complained a lot more than he did :)

He is putting his teeth to good use and loving chomping down on all sorts things taking chunks out of food (and the edge of his crib). He looks so much older with his teeth and like a little boy!

Ski Day!

Skiing/snowboarding has been something Andy and I have loved to do. We spent so much time up on the slopes together while we were dating and first married it was like our second home, We enjoyed many trips away to check out other resorts and some great weekends up in Keystone. Being pregnant last winter and having a little guy around these days means our snowboarding trips have been on a hiatus.

We did get to go up to A-Basin a few weeks ago and it was incredible! Ethan stayed with Grandma Pultorak for the day and got to hang out with his aunts and uncle mike. Thanks a ton to Grandma Pultorak and everyone for watching Ethan for us! It was a bit odd leaving Ethan for the day because I never had before, but I knew he was in great hands and would have a blast at Grandma and Grandpa's house. And he did, he had a great time! It was really sweet to get a huge cuddle from him when we got back to pick him up, I love our little man.

Man I love to snowboard and I love that it is something that Andy and I have always absolutly loved to do together. There's just something great about getting to explore the mountain together and find cool new lines etc. The conditions were great, they had been getting 2-3" every night for about a week so there was plenty of good snow and there weren't even any lift lines. It was an extra special treat to get to have a day just Andy and I to kinda of reconnect after a while of some crazy long work hours, I even enjoyed the I-70 drive.

Thanks again  to Grandma Pultorak for watching Ethan and making our ski day possible, he had a great day and so did we!

Geurts Family Visit

We had all of my side of the family in town for a few days in the middle of January. It was a lot of fun to get to hang out with everyone and have Ethan get to get to know and play with all of his aunts and uncles! We showed them some of our favorite places to eat and spent a lot of time just hanging out at our place playing with Ethan and catching up. He loved all of the love and attention and he sure was the center of it! He is one loved little guy!! There was always a line of family waiting for their turn with the our little man.
