Here are some of new things Ethan's been up too this last month. 16month update - a week late or so... per usual.
- Feeds himself with a spoon and loves the independence
- Loves to feed me his food
- dips food into dips
- Walks backwards
- Builds mega block towers and can stack them on his own
- Loves his stacking ring toy - he puts the rings on fairly quickly and is very proud of himself when he does
- Draws pictures - he drew his first picture this month -before it was more pounding crayons at the paper
- Climbs things - the step stool, our night stand and he has learned how to climb up onto the kitchen chairs, and has a blast climbing around on the playground equipment
- Last week he learned how to climb onto the coffee table and he walks across while looking at us to make sure we're watching and then does a lap around the table before climbing up again - he was too funny about it and really proud of himself.
- Says done, when he's finished with something and sometime all done which sounds like ih done, especially when he is done eating and also does our sign for done.
- Said no for the first time this month, although he doesn't use it too often yet.
- Says car and points to any type of 'car' and says it super clearly (a departure from mostly d words)
- Points to everything and says 'dat' when he wants it.
- Sings with songs and dances around the room
- Opens and closes doors on request and loves helping
- Cleans up his toys when asked and helps to put them in their basket/bucket
- Loves to help me with whatever I'm doing -
- emptying the dishwasher -he pulls out dishes and brings them to me or put them in the bottom cupboard
- putting laundry away - he pulls cloths out of the basket and starts shoving them into dresser drawers.
- Pulls/pushes us around by our legs to take us somewhere trying telling us what he wants -usually to go outside.
- Loves to play outside! He has a fit when I bring him in and he stands at the back door trying to get out all of the time.
- Digs in his sand box with shovels and when he's done with his sand box he goes and digs in the mud or comes and helps me pull weeds.
- We found Ethan tickling himself the other day
- Is super silly and goofy and is always looking for new ways to make us laugh.
- Goes down the slide sitting up all on his own
- still gives the best hugs- squeezes his arms around my neck and leans his cheek against mine or on my shoulder
- Loves when Andy comes home! He gives him the biggest longest hug and has a huge smile on his face the entire time
- Runs around the house and hides, his favorite spots to hide are behind the rocking chair and on the side of his crib in his room. He gets the biggest smile on his face and giggles.
- Took his first swim lessons this month and he is loving the water more and more and is pretty fearless with it now.
We love our little man and are always amazed how quickly the months go by and how fast he is growing!
