Trains, Buses & Bookstores

Andy was home with us the week between Christmas and New Years which was wonderful. We enjoyed a lot of time together as a family. 

One day we decided to go on an adventure downtown. We took the light rail to Union Station and then we took the mall ride bus down the 16th Street Mall. Ethan loves trains and all sorts of different vehicles so this was an especially cool trip for him. He was so cute and excited about it all, he payed extra close attention to everything. We stopped for lunch on the 16th Street Mall and went into Tattered Cover after to find some fun new books for Ethan. When we were waiting for the light rail to go home one came to the station and Ethan started to try to pull us onto the train. He was so excited to get on and knew exactly what to do. He couldn't figure out why we weren't getting on and was all frustrated with us,  he didn't quite get that it wasn't the right train even though it looked the same. It was a wonderful adventure and a fun day out! 

Christmas Time / New Years Fun

To me it's not Christmas time until we have driven around and looked at lights. We looked at lots of lights this year. One night we stopped by the City and County Building which is always pretty. Ethan wan't so happy that we woke him up to go out and look at it but he was a good sport about it.

We did the Chatfield Trail of Lights which was a lot of fun. We all bundled up and headed out for a fun walk around. Ethan loved looking at all the pretty lights up close and it was pretty cool that he could run around this year and check it all out. We liked it so much that we decided to do both Zoo Lights and the Denver Botanic Gardens lights between Christmas and New Year. (Yea for having memberships and getting into these special events for free!)
