Ethan's been loving saying dada lately. Over the weekend we were sitting at the table after lunch and Ethan was just talking away and even showing how well he gives high fives! We have been having so much fun talking with him and playing around!

Thanksgiving
It was a successful first Thanksgiving for Ethan. We spent the day with lots of family and ate even more food. We meet up with Andy's side of the family for lunch and then headed over to Grandpa Geurts' place for dinner. Ethan got to try all sorts of yummy Thanksgiving treats. He had stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, veggies off of the relish tray and he even got his own piece (a small one) of his mom's homemade pumpkin pie. Ethan was a trooper for such a long day, he loved getting to see all of his aunts and uncles, grandparents and great grandma. Ethan loves seeing everyone and is always full of smiles and even some laughs.
This Thanksgiving I have so much to be thankful for. We have so much family and great friends close by that we get to share life with and family a little farther away that we get to see soon. We grew up here and are getting to also raise our son in beautiful Colorado and have already shared so much of the outdoors with him. Most of all I am thankful for family. I have a wonderful loving husband who is also my best friend. I am incredibly blessed to have Ethan for my son, he is so sweet and fun, I love getting to be his mom and watching him grow. We are all healthy and very happy, God has given us everything that we need.

9 months!
Here is the 9 month update for Mr Ethan! He went to the doctor the other week for his 9 month check up, Andy took him because I was sick. and he said it all went great. He weighs 14lbs 8oz so he's still putting on weight, slowly but gaining none the less. We got some great stuff to help with his baby eczema on the backs of his legs and so far it is working great and he is feeling a lot less irritated. Per Andy she was really impressed with his development and all that he is doing, she said that he is above the curve with a lot of what he is doing like how well he is pulling up on everything etc.
He has entered a new phase and is able to explore all sorts of places and things. He is so strong and pulling up onto anything and everything! He loves that he can pull himself up to stand and check stuff out. He cruses around and loving walking behind his lion and or holding onto our hands or legs( whatever is available). He pulls up in his crib and stands at the edge and calls for me when he's decided he is done napping. Another big change this month is that he is full on hands and knees crawling now. I am amazed at how quickly he gets from standing one place to crawling somewhere else and pulled up onto something else. He is getting curious about the stairs and wants to try to crawl up them, a baby gate may have to go in soon.
Ethan is becoming more independent eating. He is enjoying feeding himself all sorts of bite sized things and is really good at feeding himself with his thumb and pointer finger. It's so funny when he's feeding himself and stuffs as much in his mouth as he can and actually has to use a finger to try to hold it all in while he chews. He has tried all sorts of new foods and is trying more and more of what we have for dinner. He's had hummus, chicken, mac n' cheese, pasta and red sauce, waffles, baked eggplant and much more.
Ethan is a lot more verbal now and makes all sorts of great noises. His new big one is dada, it is adorable, especially when he says it when Andy walks in the room. He likes banging on things and has learned how to give a high five. He knows when he's doing something we like and gets all excited and turns to make sure we're watching. He laughs and giggles loads! The other night he was in a really silly mood and crawling around on my and just rolling laughing at everything Andy and I did. It was so funny Andy and I couldn't help but laugh which he thought was great and kept him going.

Time to refuel with a snack break at the Children's Museum after a lot of crawling and even climbing a few stairs (Thanks Grandma Pultorak for the membership we LOVE it!)

Dada and Ethan
Ethan loves his daddy! Andy is really good with him and can always make him laugh. He has been saying dada a lot lately, which we both know is him just making noises and that he doesn't really know what he's saying, but it's still fun. He stood at the door saying dadadada while Andy was out putting lights on the house lasr weekend. He also says it when he sees Andy when he comes home from work. Here are some photo's of them discovering some new things together at the Botanical Gardens about a month ago just before Andy took the PE.
Andy told Ethan all about the importance of water quality ponds :)

I don't remember what Ethan was laughing at but it sure was funny!
Being animals made the boys tired so they both had a nice little nap while we walked around the zoo.

Ethan's thinking that the leaves by Gavin look way tastier than the ones near him he's been eating

8 months
Ethan is 8 months old and doing great. (He's actually about 81/2months now because I'm a bit late doing his 8mo post) We are loving watching him grow and discover the world around him. It's so much fun to play with Ethan and we love it when he lets out his huge uncontrollable laughs while we're being silly. He is still a really happy laid back baby. He's a big flirt whenever we're out and totally light up the room with his smiles.
Ethan a busy little guy learning how to crawl (he still can't properly crawl yet but he's getting close). He is scooting around pulling himself with his arms and trying to push with his legs. He spends a lot of time and effort in doing push ups and butt up in the air type of yoga poses. He does a combo of rolling and scooting to get all sorts of places. He's explored under the couch, in his closet in his room, behind his bedroom door and scooted into the hall from his room. He is trying to pull up onto things, and is crawling over things (with a lot of effort). Ethan holds on to anything and everything to stand up and is really sturdy, he a lot of times with hold on with just one hand and experiment trying to take a few steps. He will take some steps with us holding his hands and walking with him or while pushing his yellow push lion. Ethan is burning tons of the calories he is packing in with all of his movement, he weighs in at 14lbs this month.
Eating is still going really well. Ethan is still loving anything we give him. He loves to eat especially when he gets to have something that we are eating. Ethan drinks water from a cup and is loving his cookie monster sippy cup with a straw, he picks it up and holds it himself. He has started to feed himself which he has really enjoyed, his fine motor skills are getting a lot better so he is able to pick up small pieces of food with his thumb and fingers. He has tried lots of new foods this month.
Green Beans
Red Potatoes
Multiple types of Squash
Blackberries
Kiwi
Whole Milk Yogurt - Plain and with fruit
Frozen Yogurt
Crackers

Cereal Puffs
Swiss Cheese -(not a huge fan)
Pear
Pumpkin Pancakes
Baked Zucchini
Cucumber
Sleeping. Ethan has been going down to sleep at night really well lately with little if any fussing. I love rocking him to sleep at night with him all cuddled up in my lap. He had been going down at 8 and sleeping until 5 when I'd nurse him and he'd go back for sleep for another few hours. He has started waking up in the night again, we are thinking that it might be those darn teeth trying to start coming in but no sign of teeth yet. He just wants to hang out and be nursed around 2am.
Here are some photo's of a few weeks ago when we went to go play in the leaves at Wash Park. Ethan, as always, loved tasting the leaves and watching the people going by on the path.

Picking Out Our Pumpkins
Last week Ethan and I went to the pumpkin patch at the Littleton Historical Museum and walked around. We had such a good time we decided to go back the next day and bring Daddy to help us pick out some pumpkins. Ethan enjoyed playing with the straw feeling new textures and grabbing onto the pumpkins. He looked so cute sitting there in the pumpkins we had to take some photo's. And because the hardest part of doing a blog post for me is picking out which pictures to post I've just decided to do a bunch.
He was really interested in playing with the hay and kind of annoyed that I wanted him to look up for a photo.
Daddy shared his frozen yogurt with Ethan on our way home from the pumpkin patch
Ethan thought that was should have gotten a bigger bowl, mmmm frozen yogurt
