18month Photos at Wash Park

We had fun running around the flowers, watching big trucks go by and getting into some of the dirt.

Reading and a Rocking Chair

Ethan recently got a cool new rocking chair from one of Andy's co-workers and he loves it! It's just his size and perfect for climbing on and reading in. He's so silly, who knew a chair could be so much fun!

Shrine Mountain Hike - Take Two

We loved the Shrine Mountain hike so much when we did it earlier in the summer we decided to head up on Labor Day and try it again.  The conditions were quite different this time. Much better in my opinion; no massive snow drifts to cross, we didn't finish covered in mud and didn't have to guess where the trail went.

It was again an awesome hike! It's pretty high up so the views are amazing, it's just beautiful up there and Ethan is a great little hiker. After our hike we headed into Breckenridge to hang out and let Ethan run around for bit. The boys couldn't resist getting in the river for a quick cool off.

17 & 18 months

Wow, the summer went by so quickly and I've been neglecting the blog updates. Here's some of Ethan's happenings.

17months
  • Combs his hair with his comb or my brush
  • Wipes his mouth when he's eating
  • Spins in circles to make himself dizzy and then giggles when it's hard to walk
  • Climbs on Everything! He is really quick at climbing on top of things including the kitchen table
  • Pushes chairs around to climb on so he can get things off the counter
  • New words- thank you, sounds like 'dank do' banana, sounds like 'nahna' more which sounds like 'moe' and does our sign for more (sometimes) says nah casually when he doesn't want something and says no when he's annoyed about it
  • Is combining some his words. After dinner with the Shaklees Ethan proclaimed 'done car go' as we were leaving the restaurant Also says 'car go' quite often when we're getting ready to go somewhere
  • New favorite food is plums, he can't get enough of them and eats them right down to the pit. Also has a new love of peas
  • He is loving swim lessons! We go on tue and thurs and he has so much fun in the water learning some super basic swimming skills
    • Jumps into the pool
    • Reaches for the wall and pulls himself out
    • Kicks his legs and reaches out with his arms
    • Went under the water (on purpose) when 'swimming' from his swim teacher to me.
    • Loves going down the slide at the end of class - walks over to it and goes down on his own
    • Gets excited when he sees his swim trucks sitting out and wants to put them on.
  • His favorite books lately are more interactive ones with flaps and textures etc. My First Words-with sliding windows to open, Trucks- with all sorts of textures,
  • Laughs when he farts or when I ask him if he just farted, yup he's a boy
  • Picks his nose, or at least sticks his finger up there
  • Leans forward when he starts to run- too cute and funny
  • Laughs so hard when Andy chases him that he can walk anymore
  • Puts random things on his head, shorts etc and laughs and walks around, but won't wear a hat when we're outside.
  • Decided to paint with his poo one day when he woke up from a nap.
    • He had taken his diaper off before he fell asleep, had a poo when he woke up and decided to play in it for a bit... his sense of smell must not be very good yet.
