Talons Challange

Andy got a ski day in this season! We haven't been skiing this season as we're getting ready and waiting for our little guy to come, our priorities have changed, and snowboarding 9months pregnant isn't a good idea. Andy has been really sweet about giving up his ski season and hasn't complained about it at all. The past years we've had season passes and went up almost every weekend, so it's been quite a change this season. He went up on Saturday to Beaver Creek with some other guys from work and they entered the Talons Challenge. The challenge is to ski 13 of Beaver Creeks black and double black runs totaling a bit over 24000ft vertical. He did it! He made it down all of the runs by around 2pm, I was impressed.  Just after they finished as they were having and we're having a beer they heard that the main lift was broken and would be down for the rest of the day. They finished just in time and as a prize for finishing he got a hat, a pin and mostly bragging rights.

He said it was a great day up on the slopes and he had a great time! It snowed a bunch all day so they got some fresh snow on the runs which made for a great time. He said the troughs on the last few bump runs were really deep from everyone skiing them all day which was a bit of a killer but for the most part the runs were a load of fun. He was understandably really sore Sunday and quite tired so we took it pretty easy. I'm really glad he was able to get such a great ski day in this season.

Andy can't wait to get our little guy up there and on a pair of skis with him, it'll be great for him to get to teach his son a sport he loves so much. We've always had  a fabulous time up on the slopes together and have loads of good memories together of days skiing/snowboarding. We're looking forward to having good family day's up on the slopes and building more memories as a family.
