34 week appointment

We had our 34 week appointment Tuesday and our last ultrasound. It went really well, they wanted to check his size and the health of both him and the placenta. All looks good. I am still measuring about 1 1/2cm small but our little guy's growth is right on track. They estimate his weight to be at 4lbs 8 oz right now and on average he’s supposed to gain another 1/2lbs a week. That would put him around 7lbs 8oz at birth; we’ll see how close he actually is to that. They took tons of measurements which all came out great; they use an average of the head, femur, and abdomen measurements to determine size. Both his head and femur were measuring right at 33weeks and 5 days and his abdomen was a bit smaller, around 31 weeks, but the doctor said he looks g. He is laying with his head down and facing my spine, his bum up high and towards the left with his legs curled around across the bottom of my ribs. It has felt like he’s been in that position for a bit now so hopefully he decides to stay put with his head down in preparation for the big day.

It’s definitely getting a lot tighter in there. I’ve been able to feel that he’s more confined but seeing the ultrasound really showed how cramped it is in there. I am feeling very full of baby these days. We didn’t get to see his face because he was coving it with his arms. I read that because his senses are so strong these days the ultrasound may bother him more and he'd try to hide his face from the ultrasound. We did however get confirmation that he is without a doubt definitely a boy.

It was exciting to get to see him again; the last time we saw him was 3 1/2 months ago at our 5month appointment. It’s so incredible to think that the next time we see our little guy we'll get to hold him in our arms!
